Rubbish and Recycle

Recycling, rubbish and waste collections

Mill Pond Close refuse collections are operated by Lambeth Council.

Key points
Items for disposal must be sorted into recycling and non-recycling and put in the correct bins. The refuse collectors will not empty the bins if they identify mis placed rubbish, garden waste or large items in the bins.

The following items must be put in the green re-cycle bins
  • Paper and cardboard (including catalogues, directories and Yellow Pages), food and drink cartons including Tetra Pak.
  • Glass bottles and jars (rinse and remove lids) but NOT broken glass
  • Food and drink cans, tins and aerosols (rinse tins and ensure aerosols are empty)
  • Plastic bottles (rinse and remove lids) but NOT margarine tubs, yoghurt pots or any other types of plastic food containers.
Large Items
Leaving large items for disposal in the bin area can lead to difficulties in accessing the bins for both the refuse collectors and residents. The follwing items can be collected at a cost of £20 (for up to four items) by Lambeth Council

  • Standard bulky refuse
  • Large metal goods (for recycling) such as cookers, washing machines, metal beds etc.
  • Fridges and freezers

You should leave your items outside the main gate ready for collection between 7am and 7pm.
Information about all waste collection services (food, clinical, garden etc.) can be found in the environment section on the Lambeth websiteLambeth Council's home page
